The Stanford Terrace Inn is conveniently located close to Stanford University on line A of the Marguerite shuttle route, a free shuttle operated by Stanford University. Other hotels are also reachable via the Marguerite.

Transportation from & to Airport:

By Shuttle or Taxi (prices as of 07/14/09)
South Bay Shuttle -- Phone 408-866-6660. Cost is $25.00 each way for a shared door to door ride.

MVP Taxi -- Phone 650-219-0211. Cost is $65 each way.

Yellow Cab -- Phone 650-947-1234, please call for charges.

We recommend reserving a ride.
Note: Taxis waiting at SFO, will charge double the meter for a ride to Palo Alto, resulting in about $80-$90.

By Train:
From SFO  take the BART (5 minute ride, $1.50 fee)  to the Millbrae Avenue CalTrain Station. From the Millbrae Ave station, take the CalTrain southbound to the Palo Alto Caltrain Station (about a 40 minute ride, $4.00 fee). From the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, the Marguerite "B" line shuttle can take you to the Munger Conference Center.

1) Using the Marguerite Shuttle (recommended!)

• From the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, take Marguerite Shuttle Line B (see line B schedule).
• You can take the B line Clockwise or Counter Clockwise.
• You will need to get off at the Campus Drive and Mayfield STOP or the Campus Drive and Alvarado STOP.
• Tell the driver that you are going to the Munger Conference Center.
• Then you can walk to the Conference Center. The Munger, Jacobson-Sorensen Hall main entrance is on the Salvatierra side of the building (across from Russo Cafe)
• See map A for bus stop locations.

2) Driving Directions

From Bayshore US Highway 101 North or South

• Exit on University Ave. South/West.
• Proceed for several miles on University Ave.
• University Ave. becomes Palm Dr. after you pass El Camino Real.
• Continue on Palm Dr. after you pass Arboretum Rd.
• Turn LEFT on Campus Dr., continue on Campus Drive.
• There is a lot of construction around campus and parking is limited. Please park in Parking Structure S-6 or Parking lot L-39; there are Visitor Parking machines where you can purchase a parking permit for the day at $1.50/hour (strictly enforced between 8am and 4pm).
  -For Parking Structure S-6: turn RIGHT on Wilbur Way, then into the Parking Structure (J 10 on map). You can then walk to the Munger Conference Center.
  -For Parking lot L-39: turn RIGHT on Mayfield Avenue, then into the Parking lot at Lagunita Drive (I/J 7 on map). You can then walk to the Clark Center Building.

From 280 North or South

• Exit Sand Hill Rd. East.
• Follow this road for several miles.
• Take a RIGHT on Arboretum Rd.
• Take a RIGHT on Quarry Rd.
• Turn LEFT on Campus Dr.
• There is a lot of construction around campus and parking is limited. Please park in Parking Structure S-6 or Parking lot L-39; there are Visitor Parking machines where you can purchase a parking permit for the day at $1.50/hour (strictly enforced between 8am and 4pm).
  -For Parking Structure S-6: turn RIGHT on Wilbur Way, then into the Parking Structure (J 10 on map). You can then walk to the Munger Conference Center.
  -For Parking lot L-39: turn RIGHT on Mayfield Avenue, then into the Parking lot at Lagunita Drive (I/J 7 on map). You can then walk to the Clark Center Building.

As stated above, you can purchase a parking permit for the day at the above parking lots ($1.50/hour). You can also purchase Visitor Parking Scratchers for $12/day at the Parking & Transportation Services office (340 Bonair Siding, open weekdays 7:30am-5:00pm). (F/G 13 on Map). At the Parking & Transportation Office you can purchase permits for all three days at once.

Walking from parking to the Munger Conference Center

• From Parking Structure S-6 (see map A; we suggest you print this map)
• Walk towards Arguello Mall
• Continue onto Bowdoin Ln, which turns into Nathan Abbott Way
• The Munger, Jacobson-Sorensen Hall Conference Center main entrance is on the Salvatierra side of the building (across from Russo Cafe) before Lane A (see map A )
  
  
• From Parking Lot L-39 (see map A; we suggest you print this map)
• Walk towards Mayfield Avenue and towards the Bus Stop at Campus and Mayfield (see map A )
• Turn Left on Campus Drive
• Turn Left on Lane A, turn right on Nathan Abbott Way
• The Munger, Jacobson-Sorensen Hall Conference Center main entrance is on the Salvatierra side of the building (across from Russo Cafe, see map A )
