Simbios

Peter Loan

I am a part-time Software Engineering Consultant working on the simulation toolkit (SimTK) for Simbios. I am currently helping with the design and implementation of OpenSim, a software package for implementing and analyzing mathematical models of musculoskeletal structures. In particular, I am porting the core algorithms of other software packages (SIMM and the Dynamics Pipeline) into the OpenSim architecture.

I am also a part-time software engineer at Motion Analysis Corporation, where I develop software tools for motion capture applications. Prior to joining Motion Analysis I was a cofounder of MusculoGraphics, Inc., where I was involved in various biomechanical modeling projects, such as a computer-assisted knee replacement system and a 3D haptic simulation of gunshot wound debridement. I received masters degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science from Stanford in 1989.
