Alain Laederach Alain Laederach is currently a faculty member at the Wadsworth Center in Albany, New York in the department of Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics.
His primary research interests are in using computational methodology to understand and predict biomolecular structure and dynamics. He is currently focusing on modeling RNA structure and the process of RNA folding. More specifically, he is interested in using limited experimental information to generate models of RNA folding intermediates and in determining the information content of these experimental results.
He was a post-doctoral fellow in the department of Genetics at Stanford University, working in Russ Altman’s lab. He holds a Bachelors of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University. He is the recipient of a Damon Runyan Cancer Research foundation fellowship and has received an NIH K99/R00 pathway to independence grant.
