Peter Feenstra I am an Engineering Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and work in the Cardiovascular Biomechanics Research Laboratory, also known as the Taylor-lab. My research is focused on model-based simulation of blood vessel walls, in particular on finite element modeling and simulation of the mechanical behavior of blood vessel walls under physiological and pathological conditions, and on finite element modeling and simulation of drug transport from implantable devices into the vessel wall, such as drug-eluting stents. I have over fifteen years of experience in nonlinear finite element development, modeling, and simulation. Other research interests are software development technologies to improve the quality of finite element programs and to shorten the development process of finite element programs. The particular sections of the grant I am contributing to are: Core-2: Biomedical Computation 2.C.1.2. Hierarchical Multiscale Modeling P.I. Charles A. Taylor and Adrián J. Lew DBP-4: Cardiovascular Dynamics P.I. Charles A. Taylor. E-mail: feenstra@stanford.edu |
